Airy apartment with garden and pool near Lake Iseo for small groups or a couple with older children. Swim, sail, walk, bike
Available in the house
and on the Loggia
Set in a 5-acre walled area, the garden has been recently redesigned by the architect-owner who planted more than 200 species between wild flowers, bushes and essences. It includes a hilly wooded part, and a small pond provided with red fish and waterlilies
The swimming pool is fitted with a convenient changing room, a bathroom with a heated shower, sunbeds and chairs where guests can rest and lie both in the sun and in the shade of a big umbrella.
Being separated from the house, immersed in the silent garden, it is not advised for young children without surveillance
THINGS TO DO
The Franciacorta area is famous for its wines, and whilst staying here our guests can organise wine tours visiting the best cellars (the major ones as well as minor excellent producers) - all within easy reach from us - and sampling Franciacorta (Satèn, Rosé, Millesimato or Riserva), red and white Curtefranca DOC or excellent Grappa. (Mosnel, Cavalleri, Berlucchi to name but a few)
Franciacorta is a relatively small area and mostly known for its famous wines, but with its rolling hills, stunning views and neat villages it is ideal for both nature lovers and art and culture seekers. Iseo, on the lake with the same name, is only 9 kms away and can be easily reached either with a 10-minute drive or a pleasant cycle ride: a walk in the historic medieval centre is a must, its Friday market is also a big attraction for shop and local food lovers
Most villages around us hold a daily market (Thursdays at Passirano itself), the largest and most interesting being on Fridays at Iseo, Saturdays at Salò - Lake Garda, Sundays at Desenzano - Lake Garda and Mondays at Rovato, hometown of traditional "manzo all'olio" (oil beef)
Guests can lie down by the pool or delve into a book on the shady loggia, but for the more active there are lots of things to do: walking and cycling lovers can follow routes starting from the house, around lake Iseo or along the river Oglio; swimming and canooing on the lake or at near-by water parks; horse riding and golf can be organised with prior arrangement. Among theme parks, Gardaland is a big hit, but all are within less than an hour's drive
Private classes are generally held at quite close equestrian centres, and can be organised with prior arrangement
A cycling route is just off the housedoor and reaches the lake through the beautiful Torbiere nature reserve or Brescia through rolling vinyards and villages. Cycling routes are around lake Iseo and lake Garda, along the rivers Oglio and Mella and reach as far as the river Po southward or up to the Tonale pass northward. Bikes can be rented with prior arrangements
I was in Passirano recently, Filippo and Anna, welcomed me as part of their family and made me feel really at home. The home and the garden are awesome and I recommend this place if you want to enjoy peacefull resting in the countryside.
